Growlette from Winooski Beverage.
This was poured into a pokal.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt yellow almost pale orange color with a thin foamy to bubbly fizzy sort of head. Messy semi-foamy lace.
The aroma takes on some sour to sweet wheat allowing some light citrus/lemon sweet to grassy sweet and bittering tones to come out.
The flavor seemed to blend fairly well between the all of the previously mentioned aromas shuffling it all up in the aftertaste and flowing evenly into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with an enormous crushability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt where the brewer intended. Acidity level hit but didn’t burn.
Overall, nicely done Berliner weisse with a little bit of Vermont creativity seemingly to assist in bringing down the high levels in acidity burn at this style sometimes produces. I would definitely give this another go preferably in the Summer.

Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a soft burnt orange color with a nice looking finger’s worth of white foamy head. Strings of lace slide into the beer.
The aroma had a mild biscuit to caramel/toffee malty flow to earthy/grassy hops. Slight touch of floral quality weaves it’s way in underneath.
The flavor mildly arranges itself around the biscuit to caramel/toffee malts with earthy/grassy hops. Hops really don’t show much bitterness, just seems to be there for balance. Light smooth malty aftertaste with a clean malty, semi-floral finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. ABV felt as projected as the brewer said.
Overall, English Bitter, sure smells, tastes and feels like one and a good one at that.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Sly spider web lace.
The aroma, for a milk stout, seems to balance a bit more roast than expected, which I like yet still lets in an ample amount of sweet milk chocolate. Traces of dark chocolate show a light bitterness.
The flavor blends the roast to the sweet, more so than any practically any other sweet stout I ever had. The aftertaste seems to be well versed between the roast and the sweet and seems to be in the finish as well.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt spot on.
Overall, second milk stout from a Vermont brewer that seems to scale back on the sweetness of the lactose in it. Would love to have again.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Sly lace.
The aroma had some roasted coffee bean, roasted cocoa bean, light char and a delicate smoke underneath.
The flavor leaned to the roasty side with a touch of sweet pretty far underneath. Smoke seems barely there. Nice roasty to char aftertaste with a rugged roasty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt as projected by the brewer.
Overall, drinks like a porter but still has some stout qualities about it. I could have again, I think.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a black color with a thin cap of a white foamy head. Quick dissipation. Barely any lace.
The aroma mixes up some heavy roasty dark chocolate to fresh piney aromatic hops. Bitter, bold and unyielding to my nose. Subtle grassy to citrusy effects as it warms
The flavor, once again, blends fully the prior mentioned aromas nicely. Subtle roasty dark chocolate aftertaste and a quick robust finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sipping quality about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt as projected.
Overall, nice black IPA, great Winter sipper. I would have again.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a good lasting finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head. Some stringy lace.
The aroma had a nice perceptive blend of wheat malt. Slight toast. Some grassiness. Slight earthiness. Crisp nuttiness. Subtle roast. Sly leafiness. And then a touch of leather.
The flavor dryly blended all of the previously mentioned flavors just a touch more than adequately. That crisp leafiness really seems to blend a bit more with some earthy/semi-spicy flavor. Quick semi-wheaty malty aftertaste rolling into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt spot on.
Overall, I can’t wait til this shows up next Autumn! Vermont needs more brown ales and great ones on top of it. This one will turn some heads in the direction of this style.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Fairly light speckled lace.
The aroma started off with the roasted malts, some coffee to chocolate intertwining with a nice robust to rugged dryness. A slight spiciness from some rye enters in for a nice blend.
The flavor takes the previously mentioned aromas to blend with a slight toastiness. Nice blend all around and smoothly leads into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, really nice crushable porter well worthy to bring in Spring. Definitely would have again.

Growlette pour to a becher pint glass, a pint glass and a mug. The mug seemed to have kept the head the best. Yes, first signs of a nice ESB to come.
From the mug, the appearance was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Leaves a messy lace roaming around the glass uneven.
The aroma takes the British sweet maltiness flowing nicely over clean grassy sweet to an earthy appropriate cleanness.
The flavor takes the grassy/earthy clean sweetness flowing into the aftertaste and on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Carbonation felt low key. Very smooth as a Bitter.
Overall, nicely done Bitter that could fulfill it’s destiny as a great food beer. Next time, definitely.

Crowler from Big Fatty’s pours a light orange gold color. no head. Very aromatic with oranges dominating the aroma. Thin malt, decent mouthfeel fades to a chalky old fruit flavor at the finish. you do get a juiciness up front but not great.
