Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is interesting with some phenolic notes of white pepper and coriander as well as quite a bit of grassy, herbal hop notes. A light poopiness is present. Some light citrus notes and a bit of a floral character. Pours a slightly hazy, pale yellow with a large, frothy, white head that recedes steadily to a small head that lingers for quite some time. Faint lacing and no legs. Flavor is slightly acidic with a dry, phenolic finish. Slight cracker malt notes. Some light citrus and tropical fruit with hints of peach. Medium light bitterness. Some grassy notes as well as a lot of barnyard phenolics. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation and a very dry finish. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, the beer is kind of in an awkward phase; the hops are fading and the funk is coming in, but they aren’t quite gelling yet. Its still super drinkable, but with somewhat faded hops and funk that hasn’t matured to its full potential.

Capped 750 from Bine & Vine. Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma of musty wood, red berries and maybe rye. Makes me think of sour red/brown. Med body. Flavor is musty, wood, red berry and just a hint of rye. Finish is sort of flat, earthy wood. With red berry again. It’s clearly a sour, but it’s not the harsh, biting kind. Very much a red/brown to me. The rye spice is a rather different feature for that style, but it works. More wood always helps?

Yellow color and hazy. Very sour, and unusually cheese and surprisingly celary salt. Some salt in the aftertaste and lasting sourness. Very good.
