Growler filled at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap in Kansas City, Missouri, enjoyed that evening about 30 minutes after fill. The pour is a dark copper brown with a one inch light tan head. The aroma is caramel nut malt and grass. The taste is a nice blend between the soft sweet caramel nut malt, along with the grass which also has some herbal floral character. The palate is medium bodied, with nice soft carbonation and a mineral softly herbal finish. Nice take on the style.

Growler filled at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap in Kansas City, Missouri later in the afternoon, enjoyed that evening three or so hours later. The pour is opaque black brownish with a darker tan head. The aroma roast dark chocolate malt, along with fresh roasted coffee and a mineral earth in the back. The taste mirrors the nose, solid roast stout with a fresh coffee taste blended, and a dry earthy mineral finish. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation and the dry finish. Nicely done, coffee is generally a miss with beer for me, but this really nailed. Likely the best MCBC beer I have had so far.

Shaker pint draft at Martin City Brewing Company Pizza & Tap in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a black brown with a khaki head that falls quick. The aroma is fresh roast and pine. The taste is bright fresh clean pine hop balanced nicely with the roast malt. The palate is medium to light bodied, nice version of a style I am not normally crazy about.

Tulip draft at the brewpub in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a hazed golden orange with not much of a white head. The aroma is faint earth hop along with crisp cracker malt. As the beer warms, the Wit yeast is evident. The taste is a nice balance between the earth citrus earth hop and the cracker, somewhat sweet caramel malt. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a cleanish finish. Soft Belgian notes are present in the finish. Nice beer, fun concept.

Tulip draft at the brewpub in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is hazed pink golden with a smallish white head. The aroma is floral Hibiscus, bit of Saison yeast and nutty malt. The taste is floral Hibiscus up front, moving towards a soft citrus and finishing with clean malt and Saison yeast. The palate is light to medium bodied with a clean grainy floral finish. Fun and easy drinking.

Shaker pint draft at the brewpub in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is cloudy yellow with a small white head The aroma is herbal, earth and a softly sweet cracker malt. The taste is mineral herbal, bright fresh hoppy along with the clean cracker malt. The sweetness of the nose is present, though integrated with the cracker cereal grain malt flavor. The palate is light bodied with soft carbonation and a clean herbal floral finish. Solid, certainly my kind of beer - would love to see this in the regular rotation.

~12 oz goblet type glass draft at Martin City Pizza and Taproom in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is dark brown black with a ruby hue, and a ½ inch well formed tan head. The aroma is dark chocolate malt, roast and a general malt sweetness. The taste is primarily the roast malt, which shows the dark chocolate semi-sweetness towards the back and finishes with gentle warming alcohol. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation and the warming alcohol in the end. I really like this style of bigger stout, but not too big. Well made, tasty beer.

Shaker pint draft at Martin City Pizza and Taproom in Kansas City, Missouri. This was listed simply as "Belgian Blonde" on the menu board. The pour is a light haze yellow with a white head. The aroma is sweet fruit, Belgian yeast and floral spice. The taste is very much the nose with flavors of sweet fruit stripe gum, the floral spice, and especially the strong Belgian yeast character. The palate is light to medium bodied with soft natural carbonation and sweet yeasty finish. Well made, not entirely my thing.

Shaker pint draft at Martin City Pizza and Taproom in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a dark brown almost black with ruby highlights and a smallish light tan head. The aroma is roast malt, strong pine hop character and dark chocolate. The taste is the roast malt up front, which tastes a bit like coffee, then transitions to the bright pine hop and closes with the semi-sweet dark chocolate in the finish. The palate is medium bodied with natural carbonation and the pine slightly sweet finish. Clean and tasty Porter.
