How did PGH Brewing ever score the rites to a name like American? (update 11/8/2016: probably because D Trump is a real american, heheh!) Yes, the american light form the company that invented the first ‘light beer’ & the makers of light brigade. Don’t say ‘this is first’ because it is one of the low price leaders in the south western PA region. 29 US cents per 12 oz can. Nice average flavor for a lager. I heard this is sold abroad and it sells well outside of the US. It says it has the strength of america in it. Pours very light yellow but not quite bright enough to be called lemon. Not a ticker because I rate this as I taste. Very few bubbles in the brew but the carbonation is decent to below average. It is a little bit light on the palate. Personally, I think that PGH brewing’s other lite knock off ‘brigade’ may be much better. A well behaved lager with a rapidly fading finish that is not an insult to the back of your throat. Good deal and it fills in where the raters leave off.

This is a really cool name for a beer ‘light brigade’. Another gem like the rest from Pittsburgh Brewing. Not a ticker though I’ve had this many times before. I actually come across one at my mother in laws house and thought I’d give it a fair rate after some ‘good’ beers. It is one of the low price leaders in the western PA region. I actually taste this with anticipation that it will not be great. Pours like a very nice lager with plenty of lacing. Light yellow, not quite lemon, color. White head stays with it. Has a simple yeasty beery aroma. I can’t stop looking at these hypnotizing laces. This is from a year old can, 12 oz pop top that is rather attractive with its white top can fading thru horizontal bars, to a black bottom sitting on a chrome hub. It has a rapidly fading flavor personality that comes on medium strong then goes light. Medium fine carbonation. Finish is not lingering and is reminiscent of many lagers. Does not have any hints of that old Iron City flavor, there is the hint of three rivers of flavor after the fade; Allegheny, Monongahela & the ohio! Another fine example from my local Pittsburgh Brewing. This has got to be one of the best buys in the world at 29 US cents per can. Makes me think of the old days when gas was 29 US cents per gallon.

Aluminum Bottle. I had this at a friend’s super bowl party. This was the Pittsburgh beer versus the Seattle beer. Needless to say, the beer battle went the opposite direction of the football game. Pretty much same taste as all macros.

Golden yellow color with almost no white head. Malty aroma. Malty taste with a metallic finish. Tastes like a frat party.

Light yellow. Really fizzy. Very light flavour. A little bit of grain, maybe? Thin body. Off-dry finish. I’m beginning to think the tagline is inaccurate.

Aluminum bottle. A very light sweet malt aroma. Light yellow with small head. Lightly sweet canned corn flavor. Not a fan of the corn flavor - no better or worse than most BMC light beers.

Comes in a 12 oz can. This beer is a local cheap beer produced by Iron city. When you pour it into my steeler glass, it looks like any other pale yellow american beer. Has some continuous streaming bubble and an aroma typical of less expensive brews. Flavor is a bit metallic or industrialized. Carbonation is pretty good, tingly. Finish has a flavor all its own and lingers a bit. Overall, not too bad for 25 cents a can.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pale golden with a creamy, white head. Vague aroma of soaked grain - mash. Light and watery body with weak notes of malt. No aftertaste whatsoever, and no bitterness. Completely as tasteless as any other Lite beer. 050406

Bottle. Typical cheap beer. Suprisingly drinkable though. Better than most of the other beers out there at the same general level. Not too bad.

Saw this in a gas station cheaper than any other 6 pack they had there so I had to get it. Its on par with PBR or stag. Yellow, fizzy and corny. It is what it is and it is cheap.
