Bouteille en aluminium. De couleur dorée pâle et claire. Nez de grains de malt pâle avec des notes de caramel très doux, de miel, de maïs sucré et de houblon floral. Mince en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture aqueuse. Léger goût de grains de malt pâle sucrés avec de faibles traces fruitées (citron) lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi d’un léger goût de maïs sucré avec des traces de miel puis en finale se rajoute une très légère amertume de houblon floral aux notes herbeuses (foin) avec de faibles notes métalliques. Post-goût court, très légèrement amer de houblon floral aux notes herbeuses (notes de foin) avec quelques traces métalliques.

In bottles at GABF 2012. Pours a clear orange color with a fizzy white head. The aroma is massive candied fruit. A basic pale lager with honey and massive sweet candied fruit, not exactly like mango. Will certainly get some dude sporting a Bettis jersey laid on the South Side by his female equivalent wearing a pink Roethlisberger jersey and chugging this like it was going out of style. Hopefully after they can eat some Primanti’s.

Opens with a big nose of corn adjunct. It’s a pretty decent pour, clear but awfully light yellow, and a scrum of bubbles on top. Taste is less than inspiring for the story of a struggling local brand. A bit sugary and fusel, I’m pretending there’s some kind of hop balance there, maybe even of the Noble variety, but it just doesn’t match up to even that little bit of imagination. Guess I should admit that those local brands that survived so long did so by imitating the cheapest aspect of the big brewers.

Can complements of Fratto. Pours with a small white head that is quick to fade over a clear, pale gold body. Aromas are of DMS, cornflakes, biscuity and lightly grassy. Clean otherwise. Flavors are corn like, medium malt, bready, biscuity. Low bitterness, lively bubbles, dry and thin.

I have to admit that I had pretty low expectations for this one but it turned out to be drinkable. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz clear bottle this beer poured an incredibly pale yellow color with a large foamy white head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tangy mango and a hint of peach pits. The flavor was tangy and sweet mango and mixed tropical fruits with an odd sour almost off middle and then more sugar and artificial mango. Medium length finish of sugar and mango. Light body. Better than I expected.

Originally rated July 2005. Sampled from their aluminium bottle. Pours a rich golden colour with hardly no head, no lacing and very low carbonation. The smell is kind of sweet and malty with hints of grass. There is no sweet malt in the taste though, just grain malt at the beginning, and some corn at the finish. Pretty watery mouthfeel. Nothing special here... except the cool bottle.

Can into Lost Abbey stemware. First NA tick in a long while. Pours with a clear, somewhat surprisingly deep yellow to golden hued body with a equally surprising, decent white head that even leaves a bit of lace. Maybe it isn’t as adjunct laden as some others. Aromas appear to back it up as all malt, bready, grainy, mild DMS, some sugary melon notes, bready. Light yeast esters that are odd for a lager, no sulfur though. No hops to speak of on the nose. Not horrible on the flavors, but not good: bready, malty, saw dust, uric acid, DMS and quite a bit of husky tannin. Saw dust. Thin and watery with a carbonic bite. Mild cardboard. Honestly, not nearly as bad as expected. Seems to be all malt (granted cheap, husky 6 row). No hop flavors detected. Light salinity. Watery and husky overall.
