Via Achille Grandi 10, Podenzano (PC), 29027, Italy
Description
Everything started in 2011, thanks to the collaboration of the brothers Marcello, Monica and Davide Ceresa. The name Retorto was suggested by the topography of the valley where the brewery is located, and it’s ironically personified in a clumsy king who never disdains a pint of good beer. Determined by the strong aspiration of the brewer Marcello and a shared yearning for the ancient art of making beer, the three brothers aspire to revolutionize the italian beer landscape, testing new flavors and new sensations.

Pours a very hazy pale yellow, with about two fingers of dense white head. Not that big for the style, showing decent persistence and nice lacing though. Moderately intense aroma shows white bread, some citric fruitiness (orange mostly) and some spiciness. Taste notes follow the aroma, again quite faded, and kind of not very well integrated with an empty feel to it. Possibly lacking a bit of carbonation, which is not indeed low but sure lower than usual per style. However, it's light bodied and smooth and it goes down easy. Best before october 2018, should still be reasonably fresh. A very much unremarkable and quite tired blanche.

Bottle, thank you daniele. Golden semi clear pour, tick and frothy cap. Nose: pretty soapy, dish soap, hay. Mouth: medium-high carbonation, thin, not bad, not very charming either.

Interesting enough offering but not overly sour.

Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow. Aroma is citric, lemon, soap. Body is light, actually almost thin, lively carbonation, low flavours. Simple enough to enjoy its refreshing capacities. Good.
