Fairly clean, golden colour with an amber hue, an off-white head, decent stay and lots of foamy lacing clouds. Some citrusy hops with some grassiness over the caramel malt base and a touch of herbs. The taste shows the grassy hops with some blending fruitiness, again on the lighter caramel maltiness. A wet mouthfeel with some grapefruit zestiness to dry up things a bit. A pretty decent Double IPA with a tad citrus to balance the West Coast style.

A slight haze, deep amber colour with golden highlights, a warm light-beige head with a nice thin creamy coat that stays on the brew, and a few creamy streaks of lace as well. Big peaty-smoked, barrel-wood aromas, reminding me of this beautiful scotch - Laphroaig. Some caramel malts undertones with a tad booze. The smokiness and wood is a little milder in the taste, and the fruitiness-caramel of the Barleywine shows a tad more. Kind of smooth in the mouthfeel. A really nice Barleywine for fans of peaty Scotches.

An active white head on a unfiltered dark amber body. The nose is sharp and fresh with citrus hops and caramel malt. Citrus fruit, rind and zest create a lively first taste. The caramel malt is a strong secondary element. Melons and tropical notes underneath. Well crafted. I can't see why it gets so little love on these boards.

A pillowy white head on a rich amber body. Nose leads with fresh citrus and pine notes. Another tasty APA/IPA hybrid. Punchy citrus hops with grapefruit, lemon and tangerine notes are a refreshing lead taste element. Sweet bready malt, some tropical fruit accents and a touch of spice round it out. Very refreshing.

A fluffy white head with ample and sustained lacing. Golden amber body. The nose features rich malt, bitter citrus notes and some fruit rind. The 100 IBU hop profile is front and centre. Big fruit elements with grapefruit, orange rind, lemon and a touch of pine. Chewy malt balances the bitterness. A bit of boozy warmth in the finish. Rich and slick. A real winner.

Thick, rich and decadent - this is a beast of a Scotch Ale (actually an imperial, if that is an actual category. Pumping up the alcohol and ingredient list has made this into a Canadian classic. A backbone of very roasty malt supports a super rich taste profile. Thick toffee, dark berries, booze, butter and a hint of chocolate are brought into an extravagant but successful balance. Taste sustains and stays in balance. Not for everyone, but quite an accomplishment!

From the local Metro in Saint Alphonse. Black with a creamy, beige head. Aroma promises licorice, berries, roasted grains. Taste is bitter with licorice sweet undertones. Medium bodied, mild carbonation. Smooth, mildly watery.

Amber with a sudsy, white head. Subdued grapefruit aroma with cereal underneath. Faint caramel over time. Taste is bitter, moderate citric, finishing much the same, although somewhat watery and of modest duration. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry. Ok.
