Description
The Award winning Cider and Perry Co are form the depths of the Wye valley. The Broome farm estate has been in the Johnson family for over 70 years, with a vast history of cider making. Surrounded by new and old orchards a like, Mike Johnson has constantly strived to plant many traditionally varieties. There are now well over 70 varieties of apple and Perry pears growing on the farm enabling the creation of unique blends and single variety ciders perrys and ciders. The farm is a hive of busy activity all year round, from hands on cider making experiences to guided walks through the orchards at blossom time and of course the all important cider testing’s.

500ml bottle from Cat in the Glass. For #rgpm. Slightly hazed pale gold colour, no lasting head and aroma of perry pear, funk. Taste is sweetish, perry pear, fleshy fruit, wood, chalky, citric with some drying tannin. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry peary tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Orangey gold colour, bubbly head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of apple, funk. Taste is appley, fruit, mellow funk, and drying tannins. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Slightly hazed golden colour, short-lived bubbly head and aroma of apple, funk, whisky barrel. Taste is tart, tangy, fruity, appley, barnyard funk, woody oak, peat, tar, with barrel notes and drying tannin. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle at Hereford Beer house in the company of Isobel and Jude, Wednesday 11th June 2025. Pours gold, a little hazy, the spritzy white head swifty departed, a touch of funk, nice mouthfeel, lovely tart and tangy appley flavours rush through, dry finish. Very good.
