Bottle from Whole Foods in Folsom, CA. Still it is. Pale gold pour. Aroma of mixed apple skins with a distinct, faint rum note. Flavor is apple, apple skin and rum notes. Rum’s definitely present, but oak is questionable. It does seem a bit astringent. Fairly complex flavor combination. The finish is pretty dry.

Bottle from The Hop Pocket, Bishops Frome, Herefordshire summer 2011 consumed at home w/c 07.11.11 This isn’t too dissimilar to the perry from Lambourn that I’ve just had in terms of appearance, i.e. a bit like Robinsons Barley Water, though maybe a little paler and clearer. Some wet woodland and nail varnish on nose, nicely juicy, but with underlying dryness coming through, tangy fruity and very decent. . A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
