[i] [b] Polypin at Banbury Beer Festival 08-05-08 [/i] [/b] Hazy golden orange colour little bit cloudy, I didn’t get the smokiness on the nose half as well as Loz but on second sniff I detected some there. Nicely rounded apple flavour the barrel ageing has taken some rough edges of of this or maybe just nullified the out and out appleyness, whatever its soft fruity but not full on fruity. Not as dry as I anticipated but with a nice smoky kick back at the end in the mouth very decent.

[i] [b] Bottle that I picked up at a farm shop between Hereford and nowhere, well possibly Wales [/i] [/b] Pour mid - deep gold with a straggly lazy carbonation. The nose is soft apple juice with just a sharpness there giving a slight hint of what is to come. Starts with a real sharp and crisp bite at one point the enamel on my teeth felt like that they’d been given a bleaching or something such was the feeling that it left on my front teeth. The sharpness lingered briefly but then waned, there was little if no sweetness. This was a very nice cider but a bit of a challenge.

[i] [b] Bottle picked up from farmshop somewhere between Hereford and Hay on Wye (I think) [/i][/b] Pours still, hazy and with some very fine sediment. Wonderful aroma of pears and yes the rum is noticeable but not too pushy. Tastes good very ripe squidgy pears, reminds me of really ripe and soft pears strength is there but it doesn’t get in the way of what is a jolly decent Perry, I liked this.

Barrel at GBBF 2007. An unclear golden cider with no head. The aroma is sweet apply, and so is the flavor with a dryness to it. The body is thin inspite of the 6% ABV.

[i] Polypin at National Winter Beer Festival, Manchester 2008 [/i] Pours a pale straw colour with some haze, there’s quite a soft acidity on the nose with a hint of sourness. The taste was initially sour with some smokiness and also a preserved lemonyness, quite tasty but not as good as Loz’s from Olivers.

Clowdy yellow, with a light cider like nose, sweet with just a touch drying and very little hint of pear.

Bottled bright from a bag in the box and enjoyed on the train home from Planet Thanet BF 2007. Cloudy green silver gold colour, no head. Cheddar cheese aroma. Some apple/pear aroma. Some cheese/pear juice in mouth. Oddly cheddary finish. Slightly dry. Not entirely bad, but not enough pear. Cheddar cheese is distinctive though.

Bottle picked up from mum at Worcester Beer Festival Aug 06. Pours a pale golden in fact more pale yellow than golden. The nose is very rummy owing to the barrels that it is aged in, and yet this didn’t overun the taste which was still fresh and relatively crisp and with the apples still shining through. Really enjoyed this cider.

Cask gravity dispense at London Drinker BF 2006. Cloudy gold colour with no head. Bit petroly (acetone actually thanks Chris) and rubber with some pear. Good fruit juice develops as it goes on with a citric finish. Quite juicy once you are past the chemical acetone aroma. Nice finish
