Description
The Award winning Cider and Perry Co are form the depths of the Wye valley. The Broome farm estate has been in the Johnson family for over 70 years, with a vast history of cider making. Surrounded by new and old orchards a like, Mike Johnson has constantly strived to plant many traditionally varieties. There are now well over 70 varieties of apple and Perry pears growing on the farm enabling the creation of unique blends and single variety ciders perrys and ciders. The farm is a hive of busy activity all year round, from hands on cider making experiences to guided walks through the orchards at blossom time and of course the all important cider testing’s.

bottle, in the cellars of Broome Farm, August 2009. Another single variety cider. Not as balanced as many blended ciders, but showing off the character of the Yarlington apple very well. Medium-dry with a bitter-sweet character.

bottle, in the cellars of Broome Farm, August 2009, what a name. Lots of characterful apples, indeed bitter-sweet. Not as balanced as many ciders, but much more interesting, because it shows the character of this apple variety.

wooden cask, at Broome Farm. Sweetish malty base with lots of dry and tart apple flavours. Well-balanced, neither too sweet nor to astringent.
