Bayern Brewing is steeped in the rich tradition of Bavaria, a region renowned for producing the world’s most famous and sophisticated beer. We brew our lager beers in strict accordance to the German Law of Purity (Reinheitsgebot) of 1516. That means no berries, adjuncts, artificial carbonation, or other strange ingredients are used in the process. All you will find in a Bayern beer is malted barley, yeast, hops, and water, and the experience of a Bavarian Masterbrewer.
All Bayern beers are fully matured, a process that takes up to four times as long as conventional ales and at least twice as long as mass-produced domestic lagers. Bayern employs state-of-the-art equipment to produce quality standards unsurpassed in the micro brewing industry.

Growler pour from Route 2, Monroe. Growler night #8. Cheers. W! Pours a dark and clean copper amber with plenty of tan foam head. Listed simply as Bayern Dunkel at the taproom, but certainly this is the beer they have pouring. Aroma has plenty of caramel and cereal malts, dark fruits, and a dent amount of wheat. Dark hefe is a nice and classic way to describe this. Plenty of wheat, touch of banana like fruit, very smooth and easy drinking brew. Nice.

12 oz procured from a Bayern rep, as St. Walter Hefeweizen. Aroma has notes of banana bread, clove. Pours cloudy orange with a one+ finger off white head with decent retention; some floaties. Tastes authentic with clove phenols and banana esters. Lightly sweet with a faintly bitter hoppy edge and a hint of acidity. Lovely pillowy mouthfeel. Tip top rendition. I wonder if they’ve improved on the recipe since it was known as St. Wilbur.
