Growler at RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours a hazy gold with small white head. The aroma is belgian yeast, sugar, honey. Medium mouth, strong yeast, fruity malt, light booze finish.

Tall boy can. Pours out a hazy copper with abundant fluffy head, some clumpy lacing. Nose is all grains with a hint of citrus. Grains and malt dominate the taste, very much bread, crackers and biscuits, slightly dry and chalky at the finish. All the best from a lager, plus some heft.

Right from the pour, I knew this was going to be good. Huge fluffy head, lasts a while too. Buttery, herbal aroma, right on target. One of the better tripels I’ve had in a while, and from the USA to boot! Good all around....

Can (with 7% on the label). Pours a dingy orange with a medium head (As a complaint, the can was overfull and spilled a bit when opened. Even after this is was full to the lip.) Aromas are pleasant enough. Orange, faint spice, sweet caramel and honey. Nice. Flavor is decent too. Nothing terribly interesting, but good solid IPA. Malt and hops balance out nicely, crisp bitterness that starts and finishes the beer.

Nope, this is the 7 percenter from a pound can. Big thick viscous looking cloudy pour. Sweet, somewhat alarming mild candy aroma. Nice creamy rocky head quarter inch lasting thick. First taste is medicinal roto-tiller right down your tongue into the back of yer long bitter throat. Big personality wew. Strong difficult chewing on grapefruit rinds mixed with fresh pine tree sap thing dude. Aggressively distinctive wew. Repressive and bitterly nasty nellie. Eerily hidden volatility right up to the last gulp. Did I say WEW?! I better go check the 4 percenter version, probably more to the liking of my girlie taste buds.

From a 16oz can. Nice and dark appearance. Initial flavors are malty yet not too. Good sizzle and a fairly mild attitude as well. I even think there is this slight wild thing in there as well on top of the roastiness. Probably one of the better brown ales because of its laid back low alky attitude, just MHO.

Bomber - hmm, well this is interesting - not really a black IPA - pour is dark ruby - thick off-white head - a lot of toasted coconut and vanilla in the nose imparted by the oak, along with some candied cherry, dough, chocolate liqueur - creamy mouthfeel - very smooth and drinkable for the abv - hops are fairly present in the flavor, but do not add as much bitterness as one would expect in the style - they add some citric character to the overall liqueur quality of the beer, so at times this reminds me of those chocolate oranges you can often buy around the holidays (my description makes this sound bad, but it’s actually quite good) - lightly toasty oak character late - there is moderate bitterness late - it’s earthy and drying, balancing out the sweet liqueur character - it may not be a black IPA by most people’s standards, but what it is is a darn tasty and interesting beer.

Yes on the can it says lager but forget that. Nice crisp orange orange red color here. Clear as a bell. Slight hint of perfume on the olfactory. Nice rocky head. Wew, taste comes across high alky but its not. Mouth coating with shades of cloying. Good size serving. Yes, that flavor could be a little offensive to my girlie lager loven taste buds. Well, never could find refreshing things in the CC style, but its beer, heh.
