Description

Bottle at De Beiaard Nieuwpoort. Hazy amber colour lasting white head. Tripel aroma of candied citrus fruits. Again .very light in malts. Some bitterness on the finish. Maybe better than the Zeezuiper I had before but only as fruit is better. Its fine. Inoffensive. Hides abv well. Some heat towards end. Some spicy hop on finish. OK.

Good white, dense head over finely carbonated golden beer. Pale malts, vegetables as celeri, DMS. There is a fine sourish background aroma as (cooked) rhubarb. Alcoholic character, rum, gin, and starch. Less obvious DMS, but still present. There is a weyish bitterness, linked to the booze. Certain sweets/gums. Very fiery alcoholic, medium bodied, slick to viscous. Good carbonation. Boozy, not very subtle. And the par excellence example why "Quadrupel" ought not to be considered as a style. Strangely enough, available at Colruyt supermarkets in 75 cl bottles.

10% volgens etiket.

Sampled at Max's Belgian Fest 2024. Pours a clear, dark gold with no head. Nose has lemon, Vitamin C, oak. If it's a bitter beer then I'm not seeing it. Huge lactic barrel, raw citrus. Tart finish. Prickly. Long. Needs more complexity.

On tap @GB's. 6.5% listed as a double cherry sour, so I could be wrong. Tulip. Reddish bruin pour, mostly still. Funky sock & sour cherry nose. More astringent than sour. Cherry pit, old wood, cider vinegar sweetness, old red wine, lots of dark cherry. Pithy middle, itchy skin finish. Just a touch too much vinegar. Not bad.
