Bottle shared at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks mom for this bottle! Yellow-golden. Floral and citric hops, a bit zesty, grains, a bit of minerals, quite dry, bitter finish, medium-bodied. Pretty nice.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks mom for this bottle! Cloudy amber-brown. Aroma is overripe fruits, yeast, caramel, smokiness. Sweetish flavor with toast, caramel, some nuts, nice smokiness. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Keg at Ant ’n Bee - Tokyo. Pours clear ruby with a creamy, khaki head. Moderate smoke in the nose, some ripening apples, toasted wholegrain bread. Medium sweet flavour with notes of candied ham, mild campfire, brown bread, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Decent balance to the finish, with restrained smokiness, sturdy malty sweetness, more bread, light caramel, a little alcohol. Very nice overall.

Tap at Takumiya. Piny, lemony nose, oranges, grapefruit, light caramel and bready malts. Glowing orange-amber, hazy. Lovely grains, great hops, chewy malts, a bit of chocolate. Crisp, bitter and excellent. Good hoppy amber. Kure’s IPAs are finally catching up with their lagers in quality.

Tap at Takumi. Deep brown with red and orange tints, hazy, with a low thick head. PRetty. Rich smoky nose, bacon, some caramel and chocolate. Rich bacon flavor, very smoky, caramel, grains. It is a somewhat ale-like fruity tartness and acidity that is not terrible but isn’t welcome in a lager. Some cherry and apple. Medium body, soft carbonation. Good but could be improved.

Tap at Takumiya. Shiny black with a low, thick fine head. Lovely chocolate and citrus nose, oranges, lemon, some coffee. Light and crisp with nice hops. Malt is light, dry, woody and roasty. Good citrus hops. A session beer, probably better for summer, nice nice and easy drinking.

Tap at Takumiya. Lovely hopped up nose, crisp crackery malts, herbal and lemony. Rich malty base, not overly sweet, not boozy, great hops. This is so drinkable and delicious. Not quite like a bock, but a hoppy strong pils without the booziness so often found in this style.

Keyaki fall 2016. Light fruity nose with some grainy, grassy character. Easy drinking but without much character. Good carbonation. Forgettable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kaigun-san no Bakushu Kolsch on 20 Sep 2016 at 22:26 - Score: 6

dark brown color. Big coffee, slightly sour and chocolatey nose. Light body tons of roasted malts. Just light body, but underhopped. More like a hoppy Porter but still enjoyable.

Pale golden color. Grassy hoppy slightly. Body is a bit unbalanced and could be drier by great bitterness. Refreshing. Dry bitter finish. Nice stuff
