Description
Timmermans has kept the tradition of the true lambic alive for over 300 years now. This unique beer, made with 30% wheat, is brewed in Itterbeek, in the oldest active lambic brewery. At its origin is a miracle: micro-organisms in the air of the Senne valley end up in the wort and cause spontaneous fermentation. This is why a true lambic is brewed only within a 15 km radius of Brussels, in the area known as Pajottenland. Since 1993, Martin’s Finest Beer Selection has been proud to preserve this authentic part of Belgium’s beer heritage.

33cl bottle from Noel Cuveliers, Abele. Amber clear colour with lasting thin white head. Some acidic lambic aroma, rather muted like cider. Relatively sweet in mouth. Finish has growing sweetness, bit of carbonation tingle in mouth. Rather sweet to be honest. Aroma is not bad, bit of lemon on finish too. Just a bit too sweet.

Aroma of cran-raspberry juice blend. Red in color. Very carbonated. Artificial sweetness, as well as cherry and light yeast flavors. Despite the sweetness and sugar, this isn’t too bad at all, for what it is.

This is like sparkling soda. Bright red beer with pink foam. Sweet raspberry aroma. Very sweet and OK as a dessert beer. Some strawberry flavor. Lambic is barely perceivable.

Draught, La Becassse, Brussels. Not as assertive or sour as Cantillon or Mort Subite. Tall, thick white head and a well carbonated beer. Aroma has some barnyard sourness. Flavor is lightly sweetened, almost like a faro, with a sour finish. An approachable gueuze.
