Description
Big Drop Brewing Co. is a new craft beer company dedicated to making great beer with an ABV of no more than 0.5%.

Big Drop was launched in October 2016 by the-then City lawyer Rob Fink, along with his school-friend/band-mate, designer and entrepreneur, James Kindred. Along with renowned experimental brewer, Johnny Clayton (formerly of Wild Beer Co), they’ve perfected techniques to make alcohol-free craft beer without the need for artificial removal of alcohol.

The 2018 contract with a leading supermarket chain will require Big Drop, which moved production from a small-batch brewer in Bermondsey to Sussex-based own-label specialist Hepworth, to scale up production from 10,000 litres per month to some 40,000 litres.

Production moved to Black Sheep Brewery after a deal was agreed with Keystone Brewing Group, announced December 2024.

Bottle from Albert Heijn. Light hazy blond colour, white foam. Nose of citrussy hops, some pine. Taste is rather hoppy, watery, no cardboard or other off flavours. Quiet good.

Gott

Nose is ash malty cigarette. Taste is water, cigarette, ash. Body is very thin. Just tastes of cigarettes to me. I'd choose a soft drink over it.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a small, beige head. Nose is earthy, ashy - like week old cigarette butts left in the wet gutter. Thin body as expected, and then again these horrible ashtray notes. Totally undrinkable. 090119

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, pale yellow with a white head. Fresh, citrusy hop aroma. Thin body - naturally - but still fruity and citrusy from the hops, Solid, late hop bite. These guys know what they are doing! 211218

Bottle from Tesco. Near black in colour, with a frothy, beige, head. A touch of caramel and milk chocolate sweetness, with some toasty yet thin malts and gentle finish. A good low ABV beer.

Bottle from Tesco. Golden in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Some Short-lived hop character upfront, over-ripe malts and moderately bitter finish. A solid low alcohol beer.
