Test vom 18.4.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 3,2,6,2,14,3 - 3,70

Bottled: Amber coloured, quickly vanishinfg yellowish head; medium to full bodied; malty (caramel) nose, maly, nutty taste, leading to a slightly bitter finish; a typical example of it’s style; not bad !

Bottled (BB 11/2005)
Dark nut brown, small off-white head. Lemony, caramelly nose with barley. Medium-bodied. Wheat flavor, slightly malty. Interesting mixture of dortmunder-helles and wheat beer.

Bottle, dated 7/04. Purchased at Walt’s grocery store, Homewood, IL. What else should one drink on Easter Sunday? Still very much the beer that sets the style. Pours a deep copper color, no haze, and a thin head. Has a heady caramel smell and taste, almost like a settled barleywine. Mouthfeel is a bit thick, with notes of maple, rum and plums. Just a little touch of bitterness on the tongue, otherwise a nice sweet, warming and drinkable Lent-breaker.

Brought by a friend from Germany instead of the Salvator I ordered. I guess I got a better deal. What suprised me about this one is how similar it looked to a regular hefe. Same unfiltered apricot colour, maybe a bit darker hue. Anyway, strong banana aroma, big, rapidly disappearing white head. Sweet taste, bananas, a touch of lemon, and very, very lightly roasty. Not sure if it’s better than my favorite (Franziskaner Hefe), but it’s close.

An unclear yellow beer with a disappearing white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of wheat and peach. The flavor is sweet with notes of banana and wheat, while the body is thin.

A hazy orange beer with a white head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet malty with an OK hop presence, but somewhat boring.

Bottle. Clear golden colour. Big white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, with hints of grass. Has a sweet malty taste with bitterness in the aftertaste. Pretty good pils, but i like the weizbier better from Paulaner.

Bottle Hazy, orange body. Off-white rocky head, which diminishes fully. Lightly earthy aroma. Lightly bitter flavour. Some acidity in the end.
