Pint can pours with a clear brown mahogany colored body that supports a slightly loose tan head of foam. The aroma offers up modest levels of smoky rauch goodness followed by thin roasted malts and a dash of nuttiness. The taste delivers pleasing levels of smokiness that ranges from straight up smoke you can sink your teeth into to thin ribbons of maples and bacon. Behind the smoke is a supporting character of roasted malts. Yeah, this scratches my rauch itch that most US made smoke brews don't reach. This manages fairly firm levels of smokiness. Itch scratched.

Pint can pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a short tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up dark fruity esters, a bit of molasses and then boozy bourbon. The taste delivers smooth slick sweet malts flowing quickly into a blend of supple sweet bourbon, sweetened oak that is edged in oaky boozy vanilla. There are moments when reduced sugars briefly bubble to the surface in the form of both caramel and molasses. This gets close to achieving balance between the beer character and the barrel treatment but leans firmly in the barrel direction. This rating goes up a bit if there was better balance allowing for more of the beer to shine through. Still. Fun sipper.

The pint can pours with an opaque dirty gold colored body that supports a nice pure white head of foam. The aroma offers up inviting pulses of tangelo, clementine, orange sherbet, a dash of grapefruit and strawberry and then notes of pineapple. The taste delivers a blend of sweet tropical pineapple and mango that's pushing the sweetness limits for a moment or two. The sweetness is somewhat swept up by some hop tanginess and bitterness in the form of tangelo, orange, clementine and then thin ribbons of bitter grapefruit like citrus hoppiness. The modest balance above a potential sea of overly sweet tropical fruitiness is enough to allow me not to overtly hate this. So, there's that.

The taste delivers a pleasing smooth moderately rich blend of sweet malt slickness, molasses edged in a thin ring of kettle caramelization, spicy black strap molasses and then earthy date like sweetness. It remains rich and smooth and deep right into the finish where the ABV is only hinted at with a faint sense of alcohol warming. Fun.

Aroma: lot of bourbon, pecan nuts, vanilla beans and roasted malts. Taste: boozy pecan nuts, burnt caramel, bit of bourbon barrels and liquorice. Syrupy mouthfeel. Next one, please!
