Thursday 16th October 2025. Cobweb tasting session with four friends, almost every beer being very old or just 'out of date' (mostly very old). My place being the venue. Cheers Mat for storing this 500ml bottle for years (BB Oct 1998), just 27 years young. This is the forerunner of Deuchars IPA I believe. Anyway it wasn't in a very good state, neither was the labelling, and although we all tried to drink it, we had to drain pour most of it. Pity as I hoped it would be OK. Scored objectively (and kindly).

Seemingly now a GK beer, brewed at Bellhaven, it's not the worst, not the best. Golden amber with a frothy white head and a soft malt and hop aroma. Some sweet malt, some hops, some bitterness.
Two Henry's, Shrewsbury
At 3.8% not really an IPA as stated on the pump clip but nevertheless a decent pint. Draught in the Olde Cock, Didsbury.

Bottled. Brownish. Light bitters. Mild caramel. Drinkable en masse but pretty plain...

Bottled. Reddish. Not much aroma. Some fruity berrys and malts and thin feel. Not much finish. Insubstantial

Bottled. Clear watery gold. Small head. Harsh atale malt aroma. Weird sweet burned chestnut taste. Blech.

Draft. Pours a nice creamy brown with toffee and caramels to taste. Very good, and very well done for my $.

Draft in Edinburgh. pours a slightly darker gold with a nice hoppy aroma. Not bad for a casked IPA

Bottle. Had this while in Vegas. Not bad at all. Color was a deep amber color. Not really blood red. Flavor was a sweet malty, slightly bread rasting. Aroma was a caramel, light nut aroma.

Bottle. Loved this beer. Not overly hoppy and great roasted malt balance. Dark color, tan head. Love it.
