An orange beer with a small disappearing head. The aroma is very slight but malty. The flavor is of straws, hops, and grain. A very standard pilsener to me - even though it is classified as a Märzen.

Paid $2.49 for a 1pt 9oz bottle. Brown in color, with a nice, large fluffy head. The head receeds quickly, but it leaves great lacing. Smell is mostly malty, a little bready. A thin, but rich chocolaty/coffee flavor. A nice beer. This beer would make a great session beer, because it does not fill you up whatsoever.

2003 bottle. Wow what an aroma. Aroma very strong and permeating. Lots of bittersweet fruit, tart tart cherries, some prunes and dark dark concord grapes. Good thick dry molasses sweet aroma on the backend to balance it. Pours with relatively little off white head, clear but very wavy and glucose-like, as is typical of the style. Bright orange to a soft hazy peach. Copper colors in there as well. Unlike the kulmbacher eis in color and no dark, rich fruit and roast, but every bit as much flavor. Different but quite elegant, lots of lighter fruit, very sweet, but I will agree, it somehow isnt cloying, good bitterness, maybe a touch of acidity/alcohol but nowhere near what I would expect from from 11 abv. Flavors of sweet yellow grapes, golden delicious apples, syrupy in a good way, very viscous. Some light sweet citrus tones, like sweet orange curacao. Full body. Not actually concentrated by the ice and removal process?

9.2 abv and best before 12/02/2003. Ultra muddy dark brown-violet tinged. Some burnt red on the edges. Small off-white butter head. Big prunes, alcohol and rich choco-caramel malt aroma. Flavor is amazing right away. Big, bold, hearty, some subtle roast, lots of dark fruit, dry caramel, sweet chocolate, prunes. Full body and a grainy and big even texture. Low carbonation. My only complaint was the finish which was very muddled with alcohol, creating a not so nice flavor and slightly metallic. It wasnt a HUGE problem though. The majority of this beer was outstanding. Rerate. Same best before date bottle. I noticed a bit more thinning and unpleasant dryness than the first bottle I tried. Still quite good. My friend liked it better than Kuhnhenn’s Raspberry Eisbock, but I cant agree. Though Kuhnhenns may have too much sweet raspberry, this has too much muddled alcohol apparency.

[Expired 1½ years ago] The aroma is strong and sweet with notes of sirup, caramel, wood, and yeast. The color is nut brown and it has a fine bubbly orange head, though quite fast disappearing. The flavor is strong too. It is rather malt sweet with notes of caramel, sirup, wood, yeast, and nuts while the alcohol makes the background. It ends on a slight bitterness - not quite enough to balance the sweetness. In the aftertaste it is alcohol and sirup that lingers. An OK beer but just a bit cloying with the sweet sirupy flavors. Thanks to Alex (fiulijn) for trading this one with me.

Standard dortmunder aroma. Golden, ok head. Malt based flavor, some sweet corn, forgettable hops. Boring mouthfeel. Thinish and international.

This is a German Hefe-weizen that I really liked. Nice head, smooth taste but definitely not mistaken for anything but a wheat based beer...my source is gone now and I can only tip my hat.

(330 ml bottle). ABV of my bottle was 9,2%. Nearly black (= dark ruby when held to the light), good to moderate creamy tan head. Started drinking it too cold, surprisingly weak initial aroma, improves as the beer warms up - malty, but not very complex. Flavour is malty sweet with burnt notes - not nearly as cloying as EKU 28 (thank God!) but also less complex. Alcohol is well hidden. OKish mellow aftertaste. Good beer, but it doesn't exactly take my breath away.

500 ml cool swingtop bottle. Aroma like an average lager, rather weak. Golden colour, good to moderate head. Flavour is well balanced with a herbal character, moderate sweetness and decent hops. Flavour and aftertaste is better than the average lager, but this is definitely not what I want for CHRISTMAS! As a standard lager it passes the test, as a Christmas beer it fails!
