Bottle - tasting @ Willows. Pours hazy chestnut brown with a small tan head and decent lacing. Aroma is nutty, caramel, toffee. Flavor has some oak, but really malty, nutty. Medium sweet, light bitterness. Medium body. Above average for a brown ale.

Bottle - tasting @ Willows Market. Pours hazy golden with a medium white head and nice lacing. Aroma is wheat, lemon, bit o funk, some spices. Flavor is light sweet, honey, interesting. Spices are quite light leaving just notes of their presence rather than beating you over the head. Light body and very champagnelike carbonation. Interesting beer.

Bottle - tasting at Willows Market. Pours clear golden with a small white head and decent lacing. Aroma is yeasty, fruity esters, hay, honey. Flavor is light sweet and little bitterness with a dry finish. Light body, prickly carbonation, little sense of the ABV. I enjoyed this one - simple, but nice

Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is somewhat citrus and a touch yeasty. Med body with foamy carb. Flavor is zest, yeast, herb. Sort of a strongly flavored saison? Not a standard wit. Seems to be light on fruit esters. Very good body and flavors though. Really good taste!

Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is citrus, mildly funky. Med body or better. Flavor is very lemon/anise. Earthy. Has a bitterness that must be the "leaf". Interesting. Strong flavors. I like it.

Pours a bright coppery color. Quite clear. Sort of a shame to see that it’s filtered and not bottle conditioned. Medium white head. Moderate lacing. Just ok retention. The head has faded to a scattering of bubbles after five minutes or so. The aroma has a very clean saison character. Too clean for my taste, but it’s still nice and wouldn’t take away from paired food, which is probably the point. Pleasantly subtle citrus flavors and a peppery spice note bring some complexity. Floral, grassy hops in the background. The taste is similar, though I’m picking up on the anise hyssop. Still, the flowers and lemon leaf never come anywhere near overwhelming and are very interesting and welcome choices for the beer. Moderately dry. Some nice fresh grain flavor. A little bit of earth and a light touch of bitterness in the finish. A bit more peppercorn spice. The mouthfeel is lightly effervescent and refreshing. Good palate cleanser. Very nice beer. I’m sure it would go quite well with food. That said, it’s a tad boring on its own despite being well made and using some interesting and tasty ingredients. In my opinion, it’s just too neat and clean for a farmhouse ale.

Aroma is rather muted with faint lemon notes and light graininess. No hop aroma and only very very faint esters and low floral notes. Very low phenolics. Pours a very clear golden yellow with a somewhat thin white head with medium retention. Flavor is clean but also a bit muted. Light graininess but after that the flavor is dominated by the infused ingredients. Quite a floral character with a light anise note. Some light honey flavors and a touch of citrus. Bitterness is moderate but balanced. No hop flavor. Mouth feel is medium light with high carbonation. Low, but slightly noticeable astringency. Low alcohol warmth. Overall , a nice beer but I feel like its missing something, especially in the aroma. There just isn’t much yeast character which I expect from my farmhouse ales. Thankfully the spices are well integrated and not overbearing.
