Description
Andreas Gänstaller used to hire the name, building and installation of Beck-Bräu in Trabelsdorf. Since December 2010 he has brewed in Schnaid under his own name. Beers and recipes taken to the new brewery are moved here. Since then his beer sometimes appears under the Drei Kronen name from 2010-2013 when Gänstaller Bräu had the Zoiglstube in Strassgeich as a tap.

bottle from Frankenbrotzeit. Hazy amber-golden colour, large white head. Hoppy nose. Solid malty background with lots of resiny-citrusy hops, reminding me of an IPA. A very nice Kellerbier.

(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 7 Nov 2019) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with lasting white head. Malty nose with bread, grain and herbal hops. Smells like the inside of a hoppy malt silo. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of bread, cereal, citrus and a balanced herbal bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Lots of fresh malt, matched by fresh herbal hops. So fresh and so well balanced. Lager beer should always be like this. Very nice.

Draught. Pours brown orange with a creamy white head. Smoke, sausage, malt and toffe. Barley wine like sweetness and mouthfeel, which was the only hint of the alcohol. Smooth, comlex but balanced.

On tap at Akkurat. Dark amber. The foam was large, thick and white. The aroma was smoky with some fruitiness. The taste was absolutely wonderful, without a doubt the best tasting Smoked beer I have drank. Smoked bacon, salt, spices and a nice sweetness. Aftertaste was dry with some bitterness. Nicely balanced and very easy to drink despite 9,6%. Weltklasse!

Draught @ Akkurat. Ap: Dark orange color. Hazy, Creamy white head. Ar: Smoked and the usual hefeweizen tigerbalsam thing. Fla: Smoked sausage at first, then a lighter almost hefeweizen like taste of banana and some spices. Finishes with a small bitterness with som licorice. Small vinous taste reminds the drinker of the 9,6% abv. Pal, Ov: Oily, smooth texture. Big bodied. Clean. A beer with contrasts that still is very well balanced. Very good!

Gravity at GBBF 2009. Glad I finally get around to enter this, my official Best Surprise of the festival. Golden with a lasting off-white head. Big malt aroma with intense grassy and herbal hops. Rich and malty flavour as one would expect but very hoppy and bitter too. Extremely drinkable for the style.
