Draught at the Belgian Beer Fest. Pours a brilliant goldenrod color, deep and almost syrupy looking. Hints of bright orange and red peek through. Little to no head. Aroma of sweet yellow fruit esters (peaches, oranges, nectarines, apricots) with a lightly sweet yeast presence and a light note of vanilla or cream. Flavor is very sweet and candi flavored, with canned syrupy peaches appeal, low alcohol apparency and plenty of Belgian yeast activity. It’s very well done, and though I’m not a fan of the sweeter style of trippels (I like the perfumy, bitter, dry yeasty ones) this one was very good, very drinkable and did not thin out or shows problems from its age (2-3 years old now)

Pine and grass aroma. Amber, big bubbles, low lacing head. Hop bitterness is the theme here (surprise!). Dry grassy, pineresin and slightly citric notes. I do not feel that the body is quite living up to the hops, a bit more stability here might be good - a bit more body, and the bottle I had was a tad fizzly as well. Wonderfull long pine bitterhop aftertaste.

Bottle Chocolaty, vanilla and sugary aroma. Hazy red brown, low creamy head. Chocolate, vanilla, vineous, a bit one-dimensional. Solid body, slick mouthfeel. Peters off relatively fast - arrogant bastard stayed longer with me just before.

Bottle Grassy and piney hop aroma. Amber, low carbonation, lowish head. Hop base, malt still detectable, but the balance is evident. Medium to light body, sparkly mouthfeel. Bitterhop aftertaste.

Crystal Clear orange coloured body with a nice white head. Complex aroma of yeast, curacao, honeysuckle, vanilla and medicine! Medium-bodied; Strong spicey character resembling a belgie with a long medicinal aftertaste. Overall, less than I had expected, but what do you know-Stone Again!! I bought this 65 cL bottle from BevMo in Danville, California and sampled it on 30-June-2004, my 23rd birthday, although it was a less than remarkable beer for such an occassion.

Bottled, thanks Sven! Hazy golden, small rocky head. Yeasty nose with some banana. Sweet, peppery and cidery. Unfortunately there is also a trace of lemon grass (I hate that stuff). Grassy finish with some crystalized sugar.

Bottled, thanks hopsrus! Dark ruby with richcreamy head. Coffee aroma. Sweet with soft mouthfeel. Raw and sugary, big on coffee. Oaky finish with medium bitterness. Has potential to age, but is too syrupy for me at this point.

Bottled, thanks hopsrus! Bright golden, creamy head. Strange salty banana aroma. Full bodied and soft, byt assaultingly sweet and with syrupy mouthfeel. Alcohol comes shining through the layers of lemon grassm orange and sugar. Interesting, but not terribly good. Perhaps time will change this?

Bottle Pours a clear orange/amber witha small fizzy off-white head. A very thin white ring is maintained with only r\traces of lacing.A light fruity aroma, apple, peach, pears and very little hops. Flavors include a pumpkin/clove notes with asome of the common belgian traces. A sharp slightly bitter aftertaste and a smooth slightly thin feel.

This really came on as it warmed. Dark ruby pour with a fair head that faded in time, but left a ring of foam right to the end. The aroma carried lots of caramel, some hops and a characteristic Stone yeastyness. Malty at the start and bitter at the finish. I think this will get really nice after about a year in the cellar. Nice and warming.
