Bottle. Vinous, with roasted malts, coffee, dark sugar, toffee, oak, spiced hints, alcohol, some leather and tobacco, and a piney hoppyness. Sweet, with a decent bitterness. Combined with the alcohol warmth it prevents the beer from feeling too sweet. Think it's too sweet anyway though, but delicious anyway, and the cask used certainly adds something to the beer. Fjorårets bursdagsgave fra Håkon: nesten helt svart med kort bruseskum. Vinøse duftinntrykk blander seg med raffinerte innslag av deilige mørke malter, einebær, lynghonning, kvae, appelsin og vanilje. En superb avslutning på kvelden for de mørke øl.

0,75 bursdagsflaske fra meg selv til meg selv, delt med Støttekontakten: lett uklar kirsebærrød med kort bruseskum. Bringebær i rikelig monn naturligvis, komplementert av vanilje/eik, røde druer og søte clementiner. Frydefull drikke på min 73-års dag. Støttekontakten (se bildet) er også sprudlende fornøyd.

A welcome ipa free of alcool after a week to be sick and after a long day of work from Zürich. A nice and interesting ipa for the style, smooth and yeasty, buttery note, fruity, citrus, dry hop, aromatic and floral, well balanced and subtle, 27.03.23.

Tap at Valhalla Prague. Hazy amber-brownish body, thick off-white to beige head. Caramelly aroma, bit nutty. Smooth malty taste, caramelly, nutty, rye bread, ending lean, dry, bit herbal and bitterish. Nice really!

Bottle at home. Opaque black color, virtually no head. Aroma and flavor are malts, roasty a bit, liquor, alcohol, raisins, booze, sweetish, a bit bitter. Overall quite harsh. Even the one bottle is tough.

Dark brown body under a small beige head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, dry fruit, chocolate and warming alcohol. Taste is sweet, dark roasted malt, chocolate, dry fruit, balanced bitterness and alcohol. Fine body and long lasting, warming aftertaste. It’s rather boozy when fresh but this is really a beer for some cellaring to round off the alcohol sting. 1-2 years makes wonders with this beer.
