Description
In 1995 Harry van de Wiel decided to establish the Stadsbrouwerij Rotterdam. The brewery is decorated in the style of the old town hall of Delfshaven, the wood-copper kettles in which brewing takes place are a good example of this. In the meantime Harry's son has taken over the stirring stick and continues his father's passion.

On tap at In de Wildeman. Clear amber colour, dense creamy off white head. Aroma of smoke, beechwood, salty bacon, nice soft floral sweet malts, light caramel. Flavour is light sweet, light caramel, nice malty, firm beechwood smoke, bitter finish. Light bodied. Nice, good Schlenkerla imitation imo.

On tap @ In De Wildeman. Orange colored, hazy. Off white, rocky head, good lacing. Nice citrussy aroma with some malty sweetness and some sweet fruit. Flavor is mildly sweet & bitter. Mild bitter finish. Not extreme, but extremely pleasant.

Draught @ KBC Festival Den Bosch 2011. Clear orange to amber color, white head. Nice fresh and fruity smell, also slightly malty. Taste fruity, malts and a little bitterness. A bit low carbo and body though.

On tap at In de Wildeman. Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of citrus, light malt, flowers and fruit. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, very nice lemon and lime flavour, pineapple, citrus, light flowery, nice zesty bitter finish. Medium bodied, soft mouthfeel, slick. Although it hasn’t much depth this is one tasty tripel.

Pretty standard tripel color; slightly hazy yellow / golden. Pretty flat and a little boring. It’s all decent, nothing wrong but just not that interesting. Good carbo and body, but expected it to be better.

I think I had this at PINT Winterbierfestival Gouda 2011, but I’m not entirely sure. The beer was named De Pelgrim Winterbier Licht and had 8%ABV according to the information I got. Anyway.. Nice dark brown / dark red color. Good firm carbo and a decent body. Smell reminds me of wine and port and taste is fair.

(Draught at In de Wildeman, Amsterdam, 16 July 2011) Hazy amber colour with lasting, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, apricots and orange peel. Fruity, slightly malty taste with orange, apricots, hints of toast, biscuits and fresh hops in the finish. Rather light body, with balanced sweetness. Decent but on the thin side.

Draught @ Gouda WBF 2011: Hazy orange color, small head. Smell vinegar and something else ’under’ there that doens’t appeal to me. Tastes fresh but that’s about it. Is this supposed to be an IPA?? I highly doubt it!
