Description
In 1995 Harry van de Wiel decided to establish the Stadsbrouwerij Rotterdam. The brewery is decorated in the style of the old town hall of Delfshaven, the wood-copper kettles in which brewing takes place are a good example of this. In the meantime Harry's son has taken over the stirring stick and continues his father's passion.

Draught @ TBF ’11. Typical English beer, low on alcohol, very light tastewise. Colour orange/gold/brown. Smells a bit like butter, hops and toffee. Nice brew, but not my style.

Had this as well as the Pelgrim Best Bitter at Tilburgs Bierfestival 26-06-2011. Nice clear orange color, small white head. Nice fruity, bit hoppy smell. Taste a little sweet, hoppy and fruity. Good body, good carbonation.

Clear orange color. Bitter smell and something a bit weird, don’t know what it is. Taste just bitter, not much more. Plain and simple beer, but decent. Medium carbonation.

Colour looks nice. Smell’s fine also. Lacking a bit in taste, decent mouthfeel. Nice beer, not great.

Not so special beer. The colour looks pretty nice. Smell is a bit off though. Taste and mouthfeel are fine, if not good.

On tap @ Doelencafe. Straw blond color, hazy. Firm white head, good lacing. Aroma’s of wheat, malt, hops and some spices. Flavor is lightly sweet’n’bitter, a hint of acidity. Rather bitter finish. Not what I’d expect from a witbier but quite pleasant.

Bottle, 75cl, courtesy of fonefan. A lovely ruby-ish color in this one, on the brown side though, with a minimal-sized off-white to beige head. The aroma is hard to disintegrate, the scents melt together, but there seems to be dried fruits, caramel and some fruityness. A roasted touch too. The flavor is nice, but as with the aroma it’s hard to say what’s there. Medium to full body. Lasting finish, dry and roasted. A nice one. 110319
