Chestnut brown with rich firm, creamy head. Aromatic grapefruity nose. Medium dry with clean malt profile and a hint of coffee, but dominated by the powerful orangey hop bitterness.

2010-01-30, cask at Bishops Arms, Malmö, dry hopped with Chinook hop, 7-5-6-3-13=34
Beautiful bright amber color. The aroma is strange, a bit grassy, sulfury, piney. Caramel flavor, with a piney and resiny side. Lower bitterness and carbonation than expected. Interesting but peculiar

2006-09-10, draught, 7-4-8-5-16=40
Amber color; huge head, creamy. Nice aroma, delicate, fruity. Good malty body, but most of all a very good hopping, partially aromatic. An excellent Bitter.

2003-05-19, bottle, 8-5-8-4-15=40
Hazy orange-amber color. Very nice hop aroma, deep, quite fruity. Pretty smooth in the front, reasonable malty body, strong hopping at the end, well aromatic. An excellent IPA, just a bit too much oxydized and vegetable.

Sampled cask conditioned at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, Sweden.
Black. Roasty and spicy nose with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin. Malty, fruity and rather sweet with pleasant warming, filling mouthfeel. Some licorice and plesant bitterness in the finish. An excellent, well balanced spiced winter ale, leaning towards a strong porter.
Rating (draught) for earlier version (under the name Järflotta Julöl):
A dark chestnut brown winter ale. Rather malty, burnt flavours, somewhat grassy hop aroma with a complex spicyness and big late graperuit bitterness. The 2001/2002 rendition seem more balanced than previous years. 6/4/6/3/14

Orangey, cloudy; aroma and palate both show watermelon, cascades, guava, vienna malt, though the aroma is bigger; fruity, piney finish.

Deep amber with creamy head. Big, flowery hop aroma. Ful bodied, but dominated by the grassy/flowery Fuggles hops all the way through. Very bitter finish. The 3rd IPA from this brewery. Perhaps overly flowery, but still a really nice pint for a hop head.

Sampled cask conditioned. Very dark brown. Licorice aroma. Light body. Tastes of molasses, coffee and butter. Medium sweet. Finishes salty. Very much an English style cask porter. Good, but not one of the top beers from this brewery.
