Dark straw colour. Aroma is light, slightly fruity (pear). The flavour has an underlying hoppy crispness and dull bready malt notes. Evenly balanced, if a little simple for this brewery.

Very dark mahogany colour. Full malty aroma rich with earth, toffee, wood, coffee. Full, rich flavour with chocolate-coffee notes and a hint of almond. Long, clean, complex...what more do you want from a dunkel?

Cask at Hagges Bärsklubb, Nynäshamn. Very black, roasty coffee aroma. Fairly light bodied and medium sweet with soft, rounded mouthfeel. Really roasty with some chocolate and a finish with balanced bitterness. Damn good!

Sampled draught at Ardbeg Room, Stockholm. Dark brown, creamy head. Aroma of coffee and grass. Somewhat sweet with roasty maltiness. Firm, crisp and pleasantly hoppy with lingering bitter finish. Slightly sweeter than Mörkö Lager, which it replaces.

Fully dark brown beer with thick dark brown head, leaving some lace. Ink and cucumber nose, spiced with cinnamon, liquorice, cloves, cardemoms - oh, and some malts. Taste yields tobacco and spices; malt sweetness surrounded by sourish porter malts, and some bitterish roasted & spicey notes - great balance. I can easily believe nutmeg and cloves - but vanilla? Very well balanced, again. Full bodied, nearly oily. This is great, I’m amazed at he spices-dosage.

A very dark brown beer with a disappearing head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, and so is the flavor. A lovely drinking beer.

Clear copper color with an average off white head. Well balanced but subdued, malt and hop aroma. Nicely balanced brew with a nice dry hop finish. Could use a little more body, but this is a well brewed ESB. Thanks to Per for sending this one my way!!
