Brouwerij Wilderen

Microbrewery in Wilderen, Limburg, Belgium 🇧🇪
Associated Venue: Alcoholstokerij / Brouwerij Wilderen

Established in 2011

Contact
Wilderenlaan 8, Wilderen, 3803, Belgium
Description

So, a Belgian dark ale with whisky added. To me it can be the best of all worlds. I have a 33 cl bottle that came from Belgian Happiness, ready now to pour inside of a tulip glass. It appears a dark caramel brown with some redness around the edges. The head is a persistent carpet of yellow-tan, rather fine bubbles. I smell ripe fruit, bread and leather. The drink is red plums, cereal, malt, brown sugar, yellow raisins, red cherries and a touch of booziness. The alcohol is completely covered up. Apparently a bottle conditioned beer, I like that. Nice, not great for a much enjoyed style.

Tap at the Bonte Koe, Leiden. Poured a clear copper colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light toffee. The flavour is over moderate sweet, light bitter, with a smooth, sweet toffee caramel, light metallic, light floral, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Much sweeter than expected!

Bottle. Color: Hazy dark ruby to copper, beige head. Aroma: Taste: Malty, caramel, Whisky notes. Taste: Malty, caramel malt, spicy notes, Whiskey notes, raisins. Bit boozy and sugary. Moderate sweetness, ightly bitter. Medium body, average carbonation. Finish is going more to the bitter, dry-ish and spicy side. Ok.

Deep dark red colour. Aroma is like a cherry bakewell, loads of sweet cherries and almonds. Extremely sweet and jammy with a sharp tang around the edge.

Super clean crystal clear red. Liquid yeast driven esters dominate this beer, and it is nice and low bitter as the style ought to be. Zest ams (3.7 feb 2022) Merry beermas advent, lowered
