Description
Winning innovator on the Belgian beer market with brands such as Maes, Cristal, Desperados, Grimbergen, Affligem, Strongbow and Mort Subite.

Maes Pils volgt in 1946.

20.09.18 Aromat lekko octowy i słodki, słód drożdże belgijskie, troszkę winny.

On tap at the Town Crier
Light hops, light bready malts, crazy carb. Dry bitter finish. Meh, boring.

bottle from daknole, thanks! typical doubel pour, dark mahogany color, with a big beige head. Aroma is metallic, with some ripe fruit, plums, apple, figs, and raisins, with some mealy malt to round it out. Flavour is sweet, with more raisins, and some plums, with a good malt backbone to balance things. The metallica taste seems to linger. The Finish is smooth, sweet, no bitterness. a decent double, but i wouldnt drink this everyday. I just can`t kick the metallic flavour.

Barwa rubinowa, piana jasna niezbyt obfita, szybko znika. W aromacie nuty pieczonego chleba. W smaku dominują nuty chlebowe i za nimi karmel. Dość słodkie.

Bottiglia.

Smells like sour milk. Slightly fruity aroma of honey, vanilla, citrus. Bland, uninteresting blonde, not far above your typical boring lager.

Pours a deep dark amber/brown with a small beige head. Aroma of malts, slight dark fruits, brown sugar. Taste is quite sweet, with almost no bitterness. Overall, I’d say the Grimbergen beers are below average.
