Description
Centuries of brewing tradition, the best ingredients and strict compliance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 are quality that you can taste with every sip! The Rittmayer Brewery is one of the oldest breweries in Forchheimer Land. The family business dates back to 1422. The brewery even received its own coat of arms certificate from the Count of Kulmbach because of its good beer.
In spring 2012, our new brewery on the outskirts of Hallerndorf went into operation right next to our filling center. It is one of the most innovative medium-sized breweries in all of Germany.

50 cL bottle. Pours almost clear and golden orange with a lacing white head. Dense dried fruity aroma. Flavour is dry malty with vague dried fruity note. Light finish. A German 1 year old vintage that even 0 degrees clecius couldn’t revitalise...

Beautiful mahogany/red-foxy colour under shortlived beige head. Phenolic, tar, softly smoked birchwood, smoked dried meat. Quite phenolic taste again, Lapsan Oolong tea, soflty smoked meat. After a time there’s a chocolate flavour coming up. More complex than most Rauchbiere, less strong than the Bamberger ones. Slick, light to medium bodied, mineral water quality. Very nice beer. Abject thanks to my two Frankenlandcrazy cojudges

A copper colored beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is very smoky combined with notes of bacon and smoked beach wood. The flavor is VERY sweet to start off with - too sweet for my liking, and then the smoke hits with bacon and beach wood.

(swing top bottle, comes without the additive “Hallerndorfer”) Clear, deep golden to light amber colour with a big and dense foamy, slightly off-white head. Medium-sweet, slightly acidic grainy nose with delicate honey-fruity notes and grassy hops, also a tinge of wet cardboard. Quite bitter flavour, light bodied with a crispy carbonation. Soft grainy and slightly papery base with a good herbal, slightly grassy hop character; dry and slim but also moderately lasting herbal and bitter hoppy finish. Really not bad for a 3.5% Lager, a nice summer (Land-)bier.

Dark golden with a small white head. Strong peat aroma, perfumed even. Sweet and strongly smoked flavour. The peat smoke is surprisingly well integrated.

500ml bottle at Kent BF 07. Smokey, whisky malt aroma. Some rubber. Decent toffee in mouth. Really has a whisky flavour. Rather arresting. It’s a bit extreme, but you know, it’s a bit bizarre and not one of the better Rauchs.
