Description
Centuries of brewing tradition, the best ingredients and strict compliance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 are quality that you can taste with every sip! The Rittmayer Brewery is one of the oldest breweries in Forchheimer Land. The family business dates back to 1422. The brewery even received its own coat of arms certificate from the Count of Kulmbach because of its good beer.

In spring 2012, our new brewery on the outskirts of Hallerndorf went into operation right next to our filling center. It is one of the most innovative medium-sized breweries in all of Germany.

(swing top bottle) Hazy orange colour with a big and dense foamy white head. Yeasty, sweet malty, moderately wheaty aroma with banana and citrus, a hoppy touch and light pepper-spicy phenols. Medium-sweet flavour, slightly sour; light to medium bodied with a creamy, pleasant mouthfeel. Slightly yeasty, wheat-malty, slightly grainy and fruity taste; slightly sour and minimal bitter finish without too much phenols. Well-crafted, balanced Weizen.

Bottle, thanks to Sebastian (DerDoppelbock) for trading!
Clear, amber body. Off-white frothy head. Earthy, slightly hoppy aroma, not very intense. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour: steady hoppiness combined with some light malts. The hops are fastly increasing after some seconds and are staying quite long. Quite nice.

Flip-top bottle: Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, quickly vanishing off-white head; sweet toasted malty and fruity (bananas & cloves) nose; moderate sweet flavour, nearly no acidity, medium bodied; light sweet-malty finish with an even detectable tartness and acidity. A pleasant Weizen, especially in the winter-time........

(swing top bottle) Hazy, murky brown colour with rather short and diminishing off-white frothy head. Sweet toast-malty, wheaty aroma with banana-fruity accents and strong clove phenols. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a quite soft carbonation for a Hefeweizen. Toast-malty taste with a restrained fruit character but strong clove-spicy notes. Slim, wheat-malty, yeasty and slightly sour finish with cloves. Pretty rounded and tasty, due to the strong clovy notes also a bit winterly.

Amber-chestnut beer with small, yellow-amber head. More perfumed than smoked nose at first, going over in more classical smokey beechwood and smoked ham notes, and parsley. Light smoked & cured ham with a bitterish finish. Gets more and more nutty, with underlying sweetness, as chestnut flour. Rather light in the palate, as if a lot of taste is dissolved in even more springwater. Some slickness. Another good, light Rauch. Thanks, Sebastian!
