Bottle from Haussmann. Mostly clear golden amber, nice head. Clean, mild spicy aroma. Flavor has some grain/hay with a long and quite bitter tail of citrusy herbal/earthy hops. I never ever got mint from Polaris, and this fits the Polaris profile. Maybe too much in the early additions? Polaris is super high alpha, this must be at the IPA+ level of IBU's. It's a good dry IPP, India Pale Pils.

It's light to mid amber in colour, with just the slightest hint of haziness. A couple of fingers of white head, fades rather quickly but leaves a bit of lacing. Quite intense aroma (per style). Light crackery malts base, a bit of honeyish sweetness, a rather vivid fruitiness for a lager (can't pick something specific tough, maybe apple) and herbal/grassy notes in the background. Taste follows the aroma quite closely, again with good enough intensity, but in a not too clean/defined way. Fruitiness, especially, feels kind of confused with no specific notes. Taste is medium to high in sweetness and medium in bitterness, with a sweetish mouth and a balanced (not too dry/slightly sticky) finish. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation, easy enough on the palate. Overall a fair beer, but i was not too impressed.

Bottle. Color: Clear copper, white head. Aroma: Peat. Taste: Sweetish malty, peat, caramel notes, light hoppy background. Peat is clearly present, yet more subtle than expected from the aroma. Peaty finish. Nice one, in one way I like the subtleness and the way the 'typical German' maltiness is coming through but in the other way it's not as exciting as I was hoping for. Missing some of the smoky part of it, it's peated but not really a Rauchbier in my opinion. That said, it's a mix of two worlds in an ok but slightly disappointing way.

Bottle from the Inn at Home online store. Honey coloured pour with a white head. Nose is toffee, smoke, orchard fruit, cinnamon. Taste is caramel, toffee apple, light smoke. Pleasant enough brew but lacking in tbe smoke department.

Leicht eingetrübt bernsteinfarben mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, rauchiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, rauchig mit Schinken & Speck, Anklänge an Karamell. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

19-20-20 // bottle. Darker copper. Heavy heavy peat nose. Burnt gum. Taste is more sweet honey bock like. Milder peat. A bottle is tough but interesting stuff.

330ml Bottle - Dark brown with a slight haze. Malty aroma with notes of raisins and plums. Malty and fairly rich taste with notes of raisins and marzipan standing out.
