Cask (handpump) @ The Bankers Draft, 1–3 Market Place, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England S1 2GH.Clear meddium to dark black color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is roasted, burnt, chocolate, coffee, licorice. Flavor is light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090419]

Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, raisin - bush berry. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Easy and very drinkeable. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090418]

Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, licorice notes, moderate hoppy, citrus, grapefruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy burnt bitter with a long to average duration. Black with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with sweet roasted malt and coffee. Flavour had roasted malt, chocolate and coffee notes. Finished sweet. Not bad.

Cask @ Penderel’s Oak, JDW. Holborn WC1. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel aroma. Fruity malty spicy flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a fruity mlaty slightly sweetish spicy finish with some hints of caramel in the aftertaste.

Cask @ The Lord Moon of the Mall, JDW. Whitehall SW1. Pours a clear pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty slightly hoppy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy citrus flavor with some spicy hints. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter citrus finish.

(Cask at St. Urho’s Pub, Helsinki, on 2009-05-15) Black. Hardly any head. Roastedness and coffee in aroma. Full bodied and dry palate. Burntness, roastedness, liquorice, cough mixture, bitterness and smoke in taste. Burnt and bitter aftertaste.

Cask@St Urho’s Pub. Opaque black color, almost non-existent head. Licorice, cold cofffee and beans or vegetables in the nose. A bit light palate. Cold, burned coffee, toasty, roasted bitter aftertaste. Not much to do with the original. Too thin, too burned.

Cask@St. Urho. Very dark brown/black colour, small brown head. Aroma is old coffee, some aspartam, dry dark fruits. Flavour is yeast, liquorice, earth, mould and grass. Mild notes of roasted malts as well.

Cask @ Pommeller’s Rest, JDW. Bermondsey SE1. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty aroma with some hoppy hints. Fruity malty citrus hoppy flavor. Has a sweetish fruity malty hoppy finish with some hints of citrus in the aftertaste.
