Cask at the Barrel Vault, St Pancras on 20th March 2026. Deep sepia with yellowy white foam and scant lacing. Fresh coffee roastiness in aroma. Bitter chocolate and coffee in-mouth and a finish reflective of both. Full body and smooth mouthfeel.

From the cask at JDW Mossy Well. Creamy white head and a clear straw colour. Light aroma of sweet malts and a hint of tropical fruit. Taste is very light with notes of white peach and hay. Very light bitterness. Extremely light mouthfeel. It might be better suited to a tropical climate. It tasted very insipid and very slightly sour in Muswell Hill, which is most definitely not tropical right now.

Drinkable enough. Has a firm bitterness to it, especially in the aftertaste. A little more than the beer can manage, I would say. Adequate pale malts. A scattering of citrus peel and pine needles. This one grows a bit. But overall, it’s just OK.

That’s a good offering. There’s a nice, restrained richness about it. Firm bitterness of citrus rind, sun-baked pine and grass. Decent malty base, a hint of toasted pale malt. Good condition. Clean and enjoyable.
