Strong IPA by this renowned English craft brewery in collaboration with the far less well-known Odyssey, bottle from Geers in Oostakker near Ghent. Medium thick, egg-white, moussy head, lacing in dots and dissipating in the middle, warm orangey golden robe, almost a pale amber, lightly hazy but more deeply misty with sediment, some ‘lonely’ small bubbles here and there. Aroma of orange zest, dried mango, sweet onions, dry cookies, black peppercorn, herb cheese, old chicken spices, accent of sweaty socks. Clean and straightforwardly fruity onset, orange peel, baked banana, medium carbonation with some minerally accents; slick and oil body, hard caramel candy-like malt body, crackers and peanuts, sweetish but of course dried by a long, resinous, grapefruity and tonic water-like, ‘old school’ West Coast IPA hop bitterness, a tad oniony, spicy and lingering but still allowing some malt sweetness to peep through. Very decent, bitter and citrus peel-like, almost West Coast style IPA of a kind I still love to encounter in these NEIPA-ridden times. Enjoyed this one very much.

Bottle shared at craft beer Co Covent Garden. 20/11/2018. Many thanks to Kenny for this one. A clear nutty brown coloured pour with a a loose tan head. Aroma is woody coffee., pepper, brown malts. Palate is semi sweet. Tangy., oily, moderate carbonation. Flavour is composed of oily vanilla, bourbon, woody pepper green pepper. Coconut. Decent.

Aroma is solvent, brown sugars, dried fruit, vanilla, brown sugars. Flavour is composed woody, bark, solvent, harsh alcohol, woody coconut, alcohol.. Ok.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Kenny. Pours black-brown with a foamy tan head. Lots of ashy roast, dark malts, dried berries, earth. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more ash, dark chocolate, burnt earth. Solid.

Craft TCR Bottleshare. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is reasonably light, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, smooth fruity chocolate. Well integrated fruity bourbon. Very mild spice. Nicely bourbon whilst retaining a light palate and drinkability. Good stuff.
