Cask @ Soup Kitchen, Manchester. Amber with a small head. Not the most of appealing of aromas, with a heavier acute sugar sweetness in taste.

Gravity cask at the Red Lion 2015 Beer Festival, Histon. Dark brown with a magenta/purplish hue. Translucent. Quite flat. Overwhelming scent of coffee, lovage, lavender and liquorice. Bitter bottom-of-the-pot coffee grounds flavour. Hints of astringency don’t aid its cause. And the body is weak and flat, flat, flat. Ok.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol July 2015. Amber in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Pleasant, citrus hops, some crisp, biscuity malts, leading to a dryish finish. Good.
