Description
Raw Brewing Company was created from a passion for real ale and an idea that became reality. After several years of enjoying real ale David decided to have a go himself as a hobby to see if he could produce quality real ale. After several months it was clear that the product was good with the assistance from an army of tasters! It was time then to turn this passion and idea into reality Raw Brewing Company was born.

First brewed 14th May 2010. Following financial issues, the brewery was taken over by Silver Brewhouse who still brew their brands. From circa 2021 some Raw beers were released as Silver Brewhouse beers, and the Raw brand was discontinued.

Cask, handpump at the Cask & Kitchen Sat 4th June 2011 Pours very dark brown with a tiny film of tan bubbles. Some light coffee grains in mouth and a light roasty feel throughout but to be honest this lacks a little life and as a result it unfortunately it came across as a little thin. However there is clearly a good beer here, but maybe with the multitude of choice (it was after all a Mikkeller evening) this one was probably not quite in tip-top condition. I look forward to trying again as Raw have produced some very good beers. A7 A3 T6 P2 Ov13 3.1 Had this again at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks 07.03.12 Actually my initial description was not so far away, I have tried this again now as suggested but unusually for Raw beers it just isn’t doing an awful lot for me. Quite strong roasty flavours, with a gritty powdery cocoa some coffee and reasonable bitterness. There is nothing wrong with this but it just isn’t really my thing. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

[Cask at Reading beerfest] Dark brown, small off-white loose head. Chcolate and smoke dominate. Good chewy mouthfeel; very drinkable, thirst-quenching and more-ish - I could happily drink a lot of this. Dry finish. A great mild, easily stood up to the black IPA I’d had just before.

Cask, handpump at The Hunters, Kilburn, Derbyshire 21.04.11 Warm golden colour, with white head. Good thrusting bitterness, really brisk and bitter, good citrus bite here. In fact I get grapefruit, this is tasty. Great beer, nice furriness across the roof of the mouth. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9
