Description
Raw Brewing Company was created from a passion for real ale and an idea that became reality. After several years of enjoying real ale David decided to have a go himself as a hobby to see if he could produce quality real ale. After several months it was clear that the product was good with the assistance from an army of tasters! It was time then to turn this passion and idea into reality Raw Brewing Company was born.

First brewed 14th May 2010. Following financial issues, the brewery was taken over by Silver Brewhouse who still brew their brands. From circa 2021 some Raw beers were released as Silver Brewhouse beers, and the Raw brand was discontinued.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 30/09/12. Clear chestnut brown with a thin off-white head. Dark malts on the nose but immediately backed up by peas and a vegetal aroma - meh ! Malts in the taste, some toffee, hard to taste through the uninviting nose. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. I’ve had some decent enough beers from Raw in the last year or so, this was definately bottom of the pile by some way. Bad aroma ansd dull !

Dark black coloured ale that is more hop than chocolate... much more, but not overstated.

Cask at the Hope ’The Final Countdown’ Beer Fest. It pours very dark brown, with a medium beige head. The nose is roasted malt, treacle, caramel, dark fruit, charcoal, leather and bacon frazzles. The taste is roasted malt, charcoal, earth, citrus peel, grapefruit, slight acidity and coffee, with a bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Punches above its weight. Balance is spot on. Great stuff.

On cask at Three Tuns @ Dronfield - a robust stout which looks great, black body, white head, but lacks anything in the nose. A spicy bite redeems this, making it a quality stout. Excellent.
