Description
Raw Brewing Company was created from a passion for real ale and an idea that became reality. After several years of enjoying real ale David decided to have a go himself as a hobby to see if he could produce quality real ale. After several months it was clear that the product was good with the assistance from an army of tasters! It was time then to turn this passion and idea into reality Raw Brewing Company was born.

First brewed 14th May 2010. Following financial issues, the brewery was taken over by Silver Brewhouse who still brew their brands. From circa 2021 some Raw beers were released as Silver Brewhouse beers, and the Raw brand was discontinued.

Cask handpull at The Flower Pot, Maidstone. Clear very pale gold, very thin white head. Ascetic hop aroma with a bit of farty yeast and bit of minerality. Decent condition in mouth, but that sulphur fart bad egg thing does run through it. Some decent citrus biting hop bitterness on finish. Yes, the sulphur is a bit distracting. But the finish is really lasting and biting and very good.

Cask, handpull at The Guildford, Edinburgh, with Craig, Stella & Kids, Jan, Charlotte & Loz, 30.10.10 Pours amber with a white head, the aroma is quite subdued for a bigish UK cask beer. It’s fiercely bitter in the mouth with plenty of streaky citrus zapping about although well tempered by a nice juicy malty sweetness, lovely beer. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6

Cask, gravity at The White Horse, Hedgerley, Bucks, 31-07-10 in company of Loz, dad & Pauline Pours orange/gold with lovely clarity, for some reason I thought that this was stronger than 3.8% and just called Raw-Solstice but the details I took down on the beer were sketchy and internet search has shown these details, surely they can’t have brewed two called Solstice? There is a light citric nose to this, its like that half grapefruit that you have for breakfast occasionally with a little brown sugar on top. Taste is tongue lashingly fruity, some grapefruit bitterness coming through afterward’s, its lovely and on of the day’s favourite’s. A6 A5 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
