Cask. Rutland Arms, Sheffield. Hazy, dark gold. Dense, and blotchy, lasting, white head. Nice, fusty orange to this. Spicy hop. Some pine resin. Spicy grain. Drinks smooth, spicy, punchy bitter. Lots of body. Finishes with more of the spiciness. Dry, light bitter close. Tasty.

[ As Raw Aussie Gold ].Clear medium amber orange color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting - diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, moderate hoppy, citrus, dusty hops, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, pale malt, citrus hops, woody notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140805]

Cask, handpump at The Crafty Crow, Nottingham, Friday 16th January 2015 Pours reddy amber with a white head. I rather like Raw who I think are a jolly good brewery, sadly this isn’t one of their better efforts its a tad too conservative and rather ordinary better, however it isn’t helped by the fact that it is also past its best. Cask at Craft Beer Co, Islington on 19th November 2014. Ruby with thin dying tan foam ring. Chocolate malt aroma. Herby grassy hoppiness rounded by subtle chocolate in-mouth; caramel and chocolate malts resonate in the finish. Velvety mouthfeel and medium body- rated as a novelty beer.
