Black color. The delicate aroma of roasted nuts is quite nice. It has a dry mouthfeel, with chocolate and roasted malt, surely pleasant for the estimators of the style (more a Stout than a Porter though). The final is basically roasted malt.

On gravity at Swindon BF 30/10/08. Near black with a decent tan head. Big aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malts and caramel. Flavour had plenty more roastiness, some dark fruit and a long dry finish. Very good.

Cask (handpump) @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light hoppy, citrus notes, buttery notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. (080808)

Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, coffee notes, slat crackers. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Cask handpull at Market Porter. Gold, thin white head. Not in great condition, some earthy hop. Bit one dimensional, some blackcurrant on finish. Decent.

Cask gravity at White Horse, Hedgerley. Amber, That’s quite a tasty beer. Nice base beer. Hops are quite green. Some toffee. Quite cool. Herby.

Cask at the Waggon & Horses (JDW), Alfreton. Hazy gold with a thin cream head; leafy hop aroma; fruity and caramel flavours with a balanced bitterness. An acceptable ordinary bitter.
