Acorn Brewery is born and bred in Wombwell Barnsley, where we have been growing up since 2003. Moved to current address in October 2007. Since the very first brew of Acorn Barnsley Bitter back in 2003 the brewery has amassed over 50 awards for the quality of its’ cask and bottled beers

Cask@GBBF2008. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is mild coffee, roast and some wood. Flavour is wood, sour coffee with some mild hints of wood. Nice fruity and wooden bitterness in aftertaste.

Cask@GBBF2008. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruits, raisins and mild wood. Flavour is the same, ending in a big grassyness. Not very exciting...

Cask at GBBF 08. Gold, thin off white head. I mean, it’s actually a pretty good golden ale, but it’s still a golden ale. Fruit salad aroma, nice mouthfeel, some drying hop, more juicy fruit on the swallow. But hey, as I said, like a thousand other golden/blond ales.

Cask at the Babington Arms (JDW), Derby. Gold with a dense cream head; citrus aroma; sharp grapefruit flavour with a long bitter finish. Just what I’d expect from Cascade.

Cask handpump @ Reading Beer Festival 2008.Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate hoppy, flowers, lemon. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is metalic bitter. (010508)
