Description

Bottle as Leireken Ad Vetus Recipe 1830 - Wilde vruchten - Fruits sauvages. Slightly unclear rosé amber with fluffy white head. Sweet malts, sweet old gone brown cherries, strawberry lemonade from syrup, red fruit. Sweet, medium bitter and light tart. Dry grainy and rusty bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Cherries need lambic. Can’t really enjoy this sweet malty fruitbeer anymore.

3 May 2018. Bottle at Stokerij, Ghent. Cheers to Anke's birthday!
Pours clear golden with a diminishing, frothy, white head. Weakish aroma of cereal, wet grain, honey, white bread, some 'spelt'. It tastes light malty & bready sweet and light to medium grainy bitter, bit yeasty with a metallic touch. Short, dry, grainy finish, lingering iron. Light body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Hmm, nope.

Bottle at home. Clear golden with white head. Sweet malts, grain and dry grass with thin hints of honey and dried fruits. Moderate sweet and light bitter. Under medium body and low carbonation. A bit more carbonation would be nice. The finish comes in a cardboard box. X-D

Pours very dark, caramelly brown. Unstable white head that just collapses. Smell is sweeter, syrupy, with a coffee aspect ( like coffee syrup liquor ) bit caramelly , very intense on the earthy side. Taste is medium bitter, a sharp acidic undertone (not sure if ment? ) high carbonation. Ends very plastic and sticky. far from great. pretty sure this beer has some trouble, as I do hope this is not the intended flavor profile and mouthfeel.

Pours hazy red with a small, frothy, pink head. The aroma contains (sour) cherry, raspberry, strawberry, jam, some herbs and wheat. It tastes heavy sweet and light sour, especially in the short finish. Light body, sticky texture, fizzy carbonation. Getting some wheat and as such, 'bio', in the finish, reminding me of Gauloises Fruits Rouges, but it's still a very sweet Fruit Beer.

Sourish nose. Slightly unclear pale golden, tall loose frothy white head, good retention, heavy lacing. Aroma buckwheat, lemon, lemon grass, herbs, bit tart. Taste medium sweet and sour and light bitter, buckwheat, lemon, herbs. Fruity light bitter and sourish aftertaste, orange peel, cloves notes. Light body, watery texture, average carbonation, fresh and decent thirstquencer.
