Pours slightly hazy blonde. Small white head. Scent is fruit puree. Totally lost all lambic. Taste is sweet, sugary, fruit puree. Very unnatural. Tad earthy.. very recognizable pf, but very hard to picture this as natural. Pf candy juice. Difficult to finish because of the monotone sweetness.

Surprised to find out I had not rated this, even though I had it numerous times. First time was upon release at the brewery. I was flabergasted by how good this was, actually.
Rating made in 2024, so bottle is nearly 6 years old now ( first batch, aged in my personal cellar since release) . Pours a deep, darker redpink. Pink head of medium-small size, but quite stable ! Scent is cherries, obviously. A bit more 'candied' than the beer used to be when fresh, but still natural and nice. Just ... Aged. Mild lambic funk has gotten more intense over time. bit woody even. Taste is acidic, realtively simple and straight forward without to much funk or complexity. The cherries do pop this beer up to higher heights, being the typical marzepan-fruity explosion we all know from schaarbeekse. By time, the fruityness (and its complexity) have gone down a bit, the beer is less of a structural, complete work of art, and is starting to 'fall in pieces' a bit. . Short, candied cherry finish without to much of a lingering acidity.
In general, after these years the beer is still well worth drinking, but it was better fresh indeed. Would rate a 7.2 now, but probably somewhere in the 8+ zone fresh.

Classic geuze that is smooth and does not overwhelm in any particular way with flavour. Refreshing, sweet, and somewhat sour and slightly bitter.

A bit disappointing beer. Peach soda pop. Would probably be nice on the beach on a hot sunny day. [On tap at A La Mort Subite in Brussels, Belgium]
