Il y a encore quelques années, Michaël Novo construisait des installations chimiques pour un bureau d’études. A la nuit tombée, sa cuisine avait les allures de laboratoire. Il expérimentait des recettes. En 2009, l’idée de créer une brasserie artisanale germe dans sa tête. Un an plus tard, le 1er avril 2010, la Brasserie du Mont Salève ouvre ses portes.

Draft @ 888 Winter Camp French Craft Beer Festival, Malmö. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty sour caramel aroma. Roasted malty sour tart caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty sour tart caramel finish.

Drucken på fat på Malmö Brewings franska ölfestival. En trevlig dubbel-IPA med fina fruktiga smaker av grape, tropisk frukt och tallskott som drar lite åt godis och tutti frutti men också har en lätt sälta och en rejäl beska med lång eftersmak. Gott.

Drucken på fat på Malmö Brewings franska ölfestival. En stor kraftfull men inte särskilt kärv eller besk IS med mycket choklad, kaffe, en hel del fruktighet med en snäll lite uppfriskande syrlighet. Syrlig och fruktig espresso och mörka torkade körsbär med kärnor kompletterar den mörka rostade malten riktigt bra. Mums

Draught sample. Hazy, amber-golden colour with a thin, white head. Fruity aroma with spruce, floral hops, citrus and toasted notes. Taste is bitter. Medium to full body. Finishes dry and bitter with citrus fruits. Okay IIPA.

Draught sample. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Roasted aroma with dark malts, lactic notes, caramel, chocolate, coffee. Taste is bitter-roasted. Finishes dry with a roasted and lactic notes. Interesting mixture of styles.

Tap@The French Craft Beer Festival at Malmö Brewing Taproom, Malmö - fuzzy dark brown to black with tan head. Aroma and taste is medium sour and light roasted malty, brown sugar, prominent chocolate, interesting brew.

Tap@The French Craft Beer Festival at Malmö Brewing Taproom, Malmö - pours orange amber with a white head. Aroma and taste is a mix of sweet tropical and citrus fruits, grapefruit, tangerine, malty backbone, caramel, toffee, resinous herbal hoppy, pine needles, hoppy finish. Very nice.

250 ml. draft @ Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Super hazy golden, creamy white. Nose is sweet peach hop, sugar, candy, lots of sweet & big fruity hop. Taste is peachy orange, apricot, stone fruit, sugar, orange peel, sweet yeast, light honey. Creamy yeast & sugar body. Lots of hop, nice fruity quality, very pleasant IPA that does the trick.

15/I/16 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ Claudia's serrefeestje - BB: n/a (2016-33)

Little cloudy blond beer, creamy irregular off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of tropical fruits, lychee, mango, grapefruit, pineapple. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity start, pineapple, lychee, lots of passion fruits, grapefruit, pretty bitter, sweet caramel malts. Aftertaste: citrus, bitter, fruity, very nice beer!

Bouteille 33cl, merci à Michaël de Mt Salève pour la bouteille. BB 05/06/2017. Brune foncée presque noire, col café au lait fin. Arôme est malté, grillé très plaisant avec un rétro surprenant de sour mash qui perce apportant un contraste au bouquet malté. Palais est malté, finement aigrelet presque lactose, sur des notes de chocolat, caramel, profil des 11% reste plaisant. Fruité noir léger qui ajoute profondeur au caractère des malts et de la balance de ce côté Berliner. Le tout est faible niveau effervescence ce qui ne déplait pas. Je m’attendais à un profil Berliner nettement plus aigrelet mais au final le résultat est plaisant.
