Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland 28/02/14, acquired from Hogsback brewery shop. Pale golden with a moderate white covering. Nose is pale malts, straw, citric fruits, light smoke. Taste comprises bread dough, clean tasting, lemon rind. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Clean and simple pils.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is cornish and grassy. Grassy, toasted malty and crisp. Bitter and grassy. Dry finish.

Bottle. A clear, pale golden beer topped by a small, white head. The aroma reminds me of a toast needing more time in the heat, with some strange fruityness and grass. It’s full to medium bodied with a nice carbonation. Grains and some fruityness in the flavor, a nice bitterness in the swallow. Not very good this one, and quite weird too. 140228

500ml bottle from The Grumpy Goat. Deep dark brown colour, with tan head that disappeared quickly. Aroma of dark brown sugar; sweet and smokey taste with a nice bitterness. Very nice.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A brilliantly clear copper coloured pour, with some light carbonation and a thin off-white head - one of the most attractive looking beers I’ve seen for a long time; slightly earthy toffee aroma; full flavoured with a good balance between the sweet caramel and the sourness of the fruity hops; the finish is smooth with strong English hops giving fruit, spice, and some resin, combining with silky chocolate from the malts. The best bottled beer so far from West Berks - long may they continue.

Cask at the Half Moon, Windlesham - 2013 - ABV 5%. Dark chestnut with a loose beige head, and a raspberry red gleam; Aroma of richly roasted matls and purple fruit; the taste is of sweet chocolately malts with some fruity raspberries and plums; then a dry malty finish with a touch of spice. Not the full-on Christmas pudding of a beer I was expecting, but still jolly tasty. (31Dec2013 7/4/7/3/14=3.5)
Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell - 2015 - ABV 4.3%. Deep chestnut with a cherry red gleam and a scant beige head; earthy aroma with some treacle; berry fruit taste, with a light spicy bitterness; then a sweet biscuity finish with lasting chewy malts. Satisfying. (3Dec2015 6/4/7/3/14=3.4)
