Schooner Exact Summer Beer Pacific Ale 5.2% (on the can but it says 5.5% on their website so maybe it went up?) Can from Rakuten if memory serves me correct. Probably from last summer, it poured an orange-gold with a fast-dissipating head. The aroma is sweet grainy malts, something floral and it comes off somewhat rough. The taste is very similar which makes me think it is either heat damaged or two old. I didn’t get anything particularly hoppy from this beer and it’s probably one of my least favorite beers from Schooner, shame. I was under the impression it was a hoppy beer due to the Pacific Ale in the name but it seems to be listed as a Golden Ale on Untappd.

Tap at Before 9. Medium brown, clear, no head. Nose is cherry, vinegar, wood, bit of barnyard. Flavor is medium sour, balanced, cherry, nice treacly sweetness in the finish. Enjoyed this.

Tap at the Before 9 Schooner Exact Tap Takeover Event. Schooner Exact Barrel Aged Cherry Sour 5% Ruddy orange brown in color with a great fruity sour Flemish red aroma. Fairly full bodied but with a scratchy carbonation. The taste gives you toasted oak and vanilla then lots of highly acidic tart cherries. Sour but really well made. It hits the spot.

Tap at the Before 9 Schooner Exact Tap Takeover Event. Sodo IPA 6% I believe this is the house/experiental sub-brand of Schooner Exact. This mellow gold brew has a rich apricot fruity hop bouquet with tropical overtones. Medium to line bodied, the raspy carbonation finishes bone dry. The taste starts off fruity, stops by bready malt town before going down bitter hop avenue. A solid IPA as are all the ones I’ve gotten from Schooner Exact.

Very dark with a beige head. Chocolate, roasted malt, earth, light molasses, bittersweet cocoa. Thin bodied. Finish has some dry bittersweet cocoa. Nice porter.

slightly hazy medium brown color. Dark fruit, raisins, molasses in the nose. Excellent chocolate brownie, fig, dark fruit and raisins in the mouth with modestly aggressive bitterness. Definitely a west coast take on the style. Rounded. Bitter dry finish with dark fruit. Interesting. I would prefer without the bitterness but nonetheless it delivers on complexity and is great for what it wants to be.

Pours very dark copper, small white head with medium persistence. Smell is tad sweet, bourbon, oak, mild booze. Taste is caramel, dark malts, medium body and low carbo. Bit boozy. Some bourbon, some oak. Nice, but not particularly rememorable.

Can from Beer Cats. A golden orange color with a light beige head. A fruity aroma that has a ripe melon, tropical and yet piney hop bouquet. Medium bodied with a dry earthy-minty flavor. A solid brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2015 vintage bottle, 22 oz, foiled. Poured. A dark brown pour with plenty of foaming head. Some doughy malt aroma. Milk chocolate. Flavor is a creamy milk chocolate, smooth bourbon, dough malts. A bit on the rich side. Like the constant chocolate flavor going on. Original beer here for sure. Good late lingering whiskey character. Would love to try a fresh version of this soon to compare. Very tasty.
