Description
At present there are five of us working at the brewery – Luke and Stuart who assist with deliveries and the cleaning and filling of casks. In the office, there’s Julia AKA Fuzzy, who doubles as Droxford’s famous lollipop lady. She keeps all the paperwork in good order which is a good thing because this was a weakness of ours. The Bowman family is of course completed by Ray and myself.

Our beers have evolved over the years into three really popular regular brews and each month we have a 4.5% special on too.

Clear 275ml bottle (5.3% ABV): BB 25th Sep 2019. Drank at home on 24th Aug 2019. Slight haze to the golden body, decent white topping. Citrus leanings in the nose and taste, some herbal notes too.

Clear bottle, obtained from a dodgy Off-Licence in Brixton and drank in my son's apartment down the road on 8th Aug 2019. Not too sure what's 'Yumi' about it? Anyway it poured a cloudy light yellow with a weak white head. Aroma held some light floral and citrusy esters, taste also similar with a bit of malt action for sweetness. Not very exciting to be honest.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Aroma? Maybe some malts. Light gold. Looks thin. Thin bubbly translucent white head. Light bitter with a citrus sour edge. Develops some underlying sweetness but also somewhat undone by a streak of boiled veg. To be fair, as I drink more the hop becomes more evident. Light-medium bodied. Slick if thin. Average. Long slightly astringent finish. Drinkable enough but definable a British IPA from an oldschool brewery in that the hop is almost an afterthought.

Cask at the Hope and Champion, Beaconsfield. Poured a hazy golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light yeasty, dry hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light malt, dry floral hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not great. I suspect the cask was about to die.
